Discussion - 40" Dynamic Build Thread

talk about a whole new class of competition

Same look as the D-160 but the smallest all carbon 250mph + monster!!! Joe Manors latests creation, this 40” plane has tiny little wipers on all control surfaces, a full carbon fuse and carbon socks on the ailerons, toughened leading edges and stout wings including end grain balsa shear webs wrapped with a carbon sock for both the main spar and rear spar.

These are not eggshells, they are built nice and stout and you can feel it when you hold one. The AUW of the one in the video is 18.5oz.  Basically the same shape as the Dynamic 160 with minor design changes to add stability for “NINJA DS” such as an increased tail moment, and different airfoils  The forty inch Dynamic is extremely fun to DS, and it fly’s well enough in light air to be an awesome front side plane too and it even slows down for a civilized landing!

The prefered setup is Dymond D-60's on the ailerons and a JR DS285MG on the elevator, the plane feels plenty quick with these servos in place. Also the D-60's stick out of the wing a fair bit so to install thicker servos than those might not be beneficial...
